Most seasoned PC gamers would not always expect every game to grant them at least 60 frames per second when set at its maximum settings in 1920 x 1200 resolution. But the thing is, if even the most expensive dual card setups still struggle to run Crysis at its highest setting, then clearly there must be something wrong here. So what Crysis tips are available to our struggling gamers? There are a few and a list is found below.
1. Renew your expectations
There are people who run on an Intel quad-core @ 3.2 GHz with 2GB of RAM but despite that great set up, these people are only able to run Crysis at a consistent 60 frames per second when they use the "low" graphics setting. So don't expect these Crysis tips to make an incredible change, but do remember that even a minor improvement of about 3-5 frames per second can make the game feel a whole lot smoother.
2. Know what works and what doesn't
There are only a handful of graphic settings that can make significant changes to the game's performance; I've listed the Crysis tips below in order of degree.
3. Shader Quality
This would have an effect on both image quality and performance more than the other settings. Changing it into "medium" would speed up the game greatly but there would be a significant loss in the graphic details.
4. Object Quality
This setting, though often overlooked, affects the number, size and quality of every object in the game. Changing it to medium or low would boost the frame rates but there would be a reduction in the objects that appear on the screen, the far objects would not be rendered and there is also an obvious draw in.
5. Shadows
The simple changing of the shadow setting can produce a performance boost with very minimal impact on the visuals when compared to the "high" setting. Changing it to low simply turns all of the shadows off and putting it on high would create soft shadowing effects that are very system-intensive.
6. Post Processing
This controls plenty of things like the depth of field as well as motion blur. Contrary to most people's belief, motion blur doesn't produce and obvious loss of frame rates. As a matter of fact, turning it off is a huge mistake because even if the frame rate might seem higher the movements won't seem as smooth. But turning off hit blurring as well as depth of field would help improve frame rates during combat.
The Crysis tips listed above are just some of the few you can do to help improve your gaming experience there are plenty more that can be done which you can discover for yourself. Do note that the game would still be demanding and that following the Crysis tips above would not exactly give you the coveted 60 frames per second but it will improve the game performance that's for sure. So try the tips and see for yourself just how much it'll change your gaming experience.
